G365: The Battle Recap 2023

This past weekend in Orange County, Grassroots 365 hosted over 30 divisions in the Battle tournament and kicked off the early Summer Boys Youth Season with 122 teams competing to make an early mark on the rankings, 59 High School Boys teams preparing for the NCAA Live viewing periods and 20 Girls teams doing early prep for their Summer Season.

Some of the highlights from this tournament included:

  • 11u: #7 360 Basketball defeated #3 Creators Elect 48-37. They were led by MVP Myan Walker
    with 12 points and 2 assists and All-Tourney Member Cameron Kelly who put up 16 points and
    10 rebounds. Kaden Gray led the way for the Creators Elect with 16 points and was named to
    the All-Tourney Team.
  • 12u: The Creators 12U returned the favor by defeating #7 360 Basketball in a 49-47
    Championship game thriller. Jaden Giarrizzo was named 12u MVP after dropping 27 points, 9
    rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Blake Matthews led the way for 360 Basketball with 21 points,
    2 rebounds and 3 assists and was named to the All-Tourney Team.
  • 13u: #6 7 Days defeated #18 Desert Freeze (NV) 59-48 in the championship game. Charlie
    Adams was named MVP after dropping 15 points and 3 rebounds. Ben Brown led the way for
    Desert Freeze by dropping 18 points on his way to earning All-Tourney Team honors.
  • In the Girls Division, Her-I-Cane took home the Championship in 3 of the 5 divisions (Varsity, 8th and 7th). 2026 Khrysma F. Johnson earned Varsity Division MVP honors after 24 points against Cal Storm Black in the championship game.

  • The HS Division featured 59 teams that included teams from New Zealand, Nevada, and California as well as some of Adidas Gold Teams (Compton Magic and Open Gym Premier) as well Compton Magic’s 3SSB that featured one of 2025’s Top Player in the country in Koa Peat.
